    With Grads the grad is indescriminate to what it darkens or masks – the tree trunk would have had to have been lighter with the foreground than it was or the ground behind the trunk would have had to have been darker. You could have had a grad at an angle, or several, but that would have been more obvious as this image has subtle exposure shifts.

    It is a stunning image, absolutely top class. It has a real ‘atmosphere’ to it, hard to describe, but I know it when I see it.
