That’s just stunning, Martin.
Love the soft tones, muted colours and the balanced composition.
The ways the tones expand from dark on the shoreline to light at the top and bottom of the frame is pure class.
Very still, peaceful, could look at it for hours.
The first one doesn’t quite do it for me.
For a start it looks underexposed by about two thirds or a full stop.
The composition also doesn’t work that well for me.
You have both the bridge and the tree close to either edge and not much in between.
I think the bridge itself should be moved further into frame if it’s to be a main point of focus.
Done a tweekage to that image, hope you don’t mind.
Oh do love Mick’s adjustment..that really does do it more for me as well.
It’s hard for me to appreciate reflections. It seems there is always some debate about where to properly apply the rule and how to process to achieve the most dramatic effect. (Well I prefer dramatic anyway.)
Thanks again all for the comments and thanks Mick for taking the time to try a version of my original shot, i think it gets the best from it.
The one some of you describe as looking like a painting is my favorite. Looks really nice larger, have it as my desktop wallpaper and looks very well i think. Must give printing it a try and see what it looks like
