Braved the cold today to get these, the ;lake hasn’t frozen since 1963. I’m never happy with my landscape shots I never seem to get them right. I might stick to the wildlife stuff.
Let me know what u think off them

I think these could benefit from extra exposure, they are too dark. The first is the better one by a long way with some fore, mid and background elements, the second is missing a specific aspect of interest.

Not too fond of the second one now that I look at it again, tried brightening up the first one

That’s better. Also try trimming the top and right hand side to give creater emphasis to the centre of the image, try it with you hands on the screen!

Yeah I like it too. I must buy photoshop to see what I can really do. At the moment I’m just using PhotoFiltre :P

It’s amazing what a bit of c&c can do to a image, the finished image is great compared to the original. Snow really comes alive in B&W

I wasn’t sure about B3’s crop suggestion until you did it – good example of the rule of thirds, certainly along the top.

Try a levels layer and a contrast layer, changing the different settings in each.

Can certainly feel the cold, just looking at it.

Haven’t got software that will allow me to work with layers, only using PhotoFiltre. I must buy photoshop and learn how to use it.
