Fuji 5600 – dead
-
Alan RossiterParticipant
Folks,
A guy I work with asked me for info on his dead camera. He has a Fuji ?? 5600. He left it in his car for a couple of weeks but left it out of his camera bag. He took it out but nothing happened when you switch it on. H recharged the battery/plugged it in but still nothing. He reckons on condensation so I suggested a week in a hotpress just to eliminate that as the issue but he said he put it front of a heater – not sure how long.
OK, it’s not much to go on but is there anyone with any suggestions on where to start? If not, can you give me a name of a place in Ireland that could look at it? He was given the name of someone in Dame St who works in the evening but that’s all he has to go on.

Alan RossiterParticipantnfl-fanParticipantConsidering you can pick one up for £85 used on Amazon I’d say his best bet would be to buy a new camera.
I doubt a repair will come in at any less than €100.
Alan RossiterParticipantThat’s what I said to him. Seemingly there’s a guy on Dame Street who will look at it for €25 than advise on repair costs to proceed. He wanted to know was there something he could do before he went that far.
Thanks,
Alan.
PS – hols going well??
nfl-fanParticipantWould ya really bother?
€25 – It’s f*cked
€25 – It’ll cost ya another €100 to get it fixed
Weather has turned a bit gloomy. Food isn’t agreeing with me.

I think they’re working from home at the moment (last I heard they were anyway).
If you call that number it’ll give you the mobile numbers and they’ll meet you or you can leave it in Gunn’s Camera shop.
