DenverDollParticipant
Took the camera to the kids Gaelic Football Practice for the first time. When I grow up I’d love to be a sports photographer.
the last one is my kid..sorry  proud mommy
stcstcMemberThey are great
Really tack sharp
do you mind me asking what didyou use and what lens etc
DenverDollParticipantstcstcMemberI like the first one the best, i would be tempted to crop it just below the box thing on the post
I like the conversions too, very clean looking, which method did ya use
DenverDollParticipantSteve..
It’s just little ole Picasa’s filtered b/w. I haven’t got another editing program yet
I’ll crop it and try that..thanks! Those kids are all precious to me, so I need to pay more attention to the whole photo
jb7ParticipantI see that even in Denver,
they start off with a little pre-match warm-up violence-
Good to see the age-old traditions being carried on-Good pictures all of them,
and nice conversions,
digital really appreciates a little direct light, as you can see yourself-j
RobMemberExcellent Sharon. Good to see you having fun and getting to
grips with Alimpus…
Keep ’em coming…Rob.
AliParticipantExcellent shots Sharon :) I love the third, lovely and sharp, great colours and the movement in the feet do it for me :)
DenverDollParticipantjb7~~~I took your advice yup :D
As far as the traditions, man oh man, these practices are steeped in tradition.Rob~~~Thanks for that! I am so well pleased with this camera, she is a beauty, just like her namesake
I’m finally gettin a chance to read that manual! The original Ali~~~Thank you too!! Wow, that’s a lot of praise there. I am just grinning now.
ExpresbroParticipantGreat shots Shar….knew You wouldn’t be long taming that Olympus.
Nice and sharp and good action and not a deer in sight..hehehe!!
Mind you..all those kids look like they wouldn’t be out of place on the basketball court either… 8)
SodafarlMemberSharon,
Great first set, if I was to choose I would go for the second one, the look on the face of the kid with the ball is “S**T I better get rid of this”. That looks to be a big lad chasiing him. What age group are they and have you been able to play the first match of the season yet.
Keep them coming.
Your young fella looks really chilled.
SodaDenverDollParticipantExpresbro~~~Thanks a mil Robbie…I had such a good time shooting these, was comfortable friendly turf for me, as kids seem to love the camera anyway, and all the parents were grateful to have someone taking photos!
Those deer shots served me well in terms of not making at least THOSE mistakes again
Soda~~~wow..that is high praise coming from you because you are THE football man on here. Thanks so kindly!
We have just enough kids to put together one U16 team. So even the little kids (dudes and dudettes) suit up and scramble after the ball. I wish we had more, but the core group is excellent and they’ve been wonderful friends to each other for going on four years now, and they have a strong bond.
Sad, I know, but we haven’t got anyone to play against. There isn’t another youth team within hundreds of miles (that I know of.) They have to scrimmage against the adult men and women. Which I suppose is kinda nice really. They are tough!!
They’ll be on their way to North American Championships in Chicago in July, which is their chance to play against other kids from all over this continent. Also, the dvd, is the main event on the tube tonight. I have been waiting for an end of the school year treat, so it’s hamburgers, french fries and Irish Football on the menu tonight. Thanks again, you’re a dear.
SodafarlMember:oops:
Sharon very nice words indeed and I wish I was. Hope you enjoy the DVD it certainly shows what can be done if taught early enough, as the kids were all under 10. Keep the fingers crossed for them as it is championship Semi-final on Friday night.
I am sending this link to my friend who just bought the Olympus E400 to let him see what sort of quality he can expect.
Talk to you later.Soda
DenverDollParticipantCarl…Good Luck Tomorrow…I’ll be rooting for you all from way over here!!!
You’ll have to report how it goes!
If I’d known earlier I woulda sent over some good old American Cheerleaders
Shar
bethParticipanti swear i commented on these a few days ago…
great shots, i love the dof in the last one. tones are a little flat, but once you get some pp software you can add more contrast to them. the details are excellent.
