These are the keeper’s cottages at Galley head light house, county cork.
The sky had pretty well bleached out so I added this one in potatoshop.
I’d be interested in what you think[/img]
dr_wolfenspielParticipantI like it. its very moody and haunting. I think i would rather the colour taken out of the sky though. It just seems more saturated up there than the rest of the image.
LoGillParticipantWell – I love it around there .. its my favourite place :)
The cottages look fantastic .. I really like the lines of the wall and the mirroring symmetry of the cottages :D.. Finallly.. for my taste the Post procesisng treatment is great. it give and antique style to the shots, placing them in period I think.
Lovely work

I feel awful about being the one to disagree, but unfortunately I’m not fond of this at all. While the building itself is fabulous, and you did really well to frame it with the roof on the horizontal instead of the base of that front wall, the sky absolutely spoils the image for me. With that sky, fantastic though it is, the light on the facade of the building would be impossible. The sky also seems to be tonally completely at odds with the rest of the image; it has a very definite sepia toning while the building and front wall are distinctly monochromatic on my monitor anyway. I’m almost certain I’d prefer to see the original un-potatoshopped version. Sorry bout that.
Rob.
MarkKeymasterKinda agree with Rob, super building. Not a fan of adding sky’s etc… Best would be to go back and do it again ;)

stuttterMemberThanks for the comments, really helpful.
Think I’ll go back and desaturate, re add the tone more evenly.
