Nice image, very sharp.
Very difficult to take an image like this, as the guys presumably will have a low tolerance for punters taking photos. Its good that some of them facing the camera, especially the chap with the mirror shades looks cool.
I’m intrigued as to where it is. It would make a good candidate for the Where Am I thread. I would have said cuba, but they don’t have red brick buildings there. is it London?
And maybe I’m naive, but are they actually gambling? it looks like its just they are just playing dominoes….
Thanks for the comments Liam. It is in a township called Kyayelitha I think near Cape flats in Capetown. They were playing some kind of board game with tiles which was very fast and involved hard banging on the table. Great to watch but I dont think they wanted a geek like me pointing a camera at them so i kept moving. :lol:
Thats interesting, I was reading about that place yesterday in an article about Caster Semanya….apparently Kyayelitha means ‘New Town’ ….
It was an interesting place, I think ‘Macintyre’ did a programme on sky about Cape flats, ie world toughest cities’. Must say I did’nt find it bad at all. Dont know what it would be like at 2 in the morning coming home from the pub, though though you could apply that to a lot of places. He did a similar program on Dublin
