I like the idea but not sure it it works, something I dont like, cant put my finger on it, to little DOF and its not dodged and burned in the right way to make it interesting enough for me possibly…take the shot from an angle rather than looking right down on it… Id try again your onto something…

I think it’s an example of that most elusive of photographs-
a still life, in the still life section-I’d agree with Martin though, nearly there, but not quite.
I think the first is the better of the two,
but the composition jars slightly, for me-thanks for the comments. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for to be honest. I was throwing the garlic out as it was in the fridge for a while and I thought it looked interesting…
Hi Paul,
I think the DoF is just a little too shallow, maybe if it was lit from the bottom right it’d throw some nice shadows backwards.
#2 is not up anymore.
#1 needs a big sharp knoife in the lower right hand corner, tilted to throw light back at garlic and avoid reflections in blade…
Is this the original DOF setting or did you add blur in PS??
