If it wasn’t for those hot areas, this would be an absolute cracker of a portrait. Composition is absolutely superb in my opinion, dof, catchlights, etc., and Gemma’s expression is beautiful. Personally, I love it despite its flaws.

ciaranParticipantJohn, you’re getting the hang of this editing lark.. I would have thought you had help on this one if you didn’t say otherwise. It’s a cracking shot, especially processing wise. Perhaps a touch hot in a few places, but nothing I couldn’t live with. All in all works really well. My only niggle is Gemma’s open mouth.. doesn’t do it for me. So now that you’re back, hopefully you;ll post one or two more images, comment on a few too.. don’t just disappear again.
LoGillParticipantI like the fact that its a very natural expression on her face.. the angle you chose is great… seems vulnerable or something .. and I love her eyes, you did really really well with thos.. they’re smashing :)
Keep it up ;)

I’ll try to post some more shots, my comments would be mainly on the lines of liking a shot as I’m not strong onthe technicial aspects yet
and as for the being around more often, I’m starting to settle into the new job now so hopefully I will get more time to post

Stick with the forum for a while, you’ll pick up a bunch of information and hopefully learn lots.. even the technical stuff ;)
