Aidan, are the bubbly thing near the bottom right frog eggs? Well, I think you caught a mum and her mate proudly watching over their creation! :)
It’s frog spawn alright. That part of the canal was full of it. Now I know why there’s a Heron there most days.

We used to have lots of frogs around here, but havent seen one in
ages, dont even see them squashed on the road, which is a good thing
I know, but seems to confirm that there numbers are dwindling.
