    Woo and Hoo,

    Can’t wait!

Have a 350D, was gonna bump for the 5D, but decided babysteps were in order.

Go on, make me feel bad and tell me I’ve made a mistake, that I should have waited for the 5d to come down in price

30D and 5D are different cameras – 1.6x crop against full frame.

    30D : ?1100

    5D : ?2700

Thats my decision made. Want to eat turkey on xmas day, not turkey flavoured spam.

I’m not gonna make you feel bad! The 30D’s a great tool in its own right. Finally, after using an old D30 for just over a year, and compacts before that, I now feel like I’ve got a camera with all the resolving capability of 35mm film (and more, just my opinion, no flames!) and all the convenience and utter mad speed of digital (the 5fps is still making me fall about laughing every time I use it!)

There is no way I can make ye feel bad about owning a great camera like the 30D… I have the 20D and the 5D… they are 2 completely different beast sand both quite specialist in their own way… sort of like the 1D and 1DS except for us mortals…! :-) The 5D has its merrits for landscape, architecture etc but boy do I sometimes curse it for not having enough reach with when the 300mm is attached. The 300 on the 20D/30D equates to 420mm and boy that makes a difference..! Good luck with it… its a super machine…!

Let me make you feel a little better about buying the 30D.
    Benefits of 30D over 350D:
    1. Bigger LCD
    2. Much better ergonomics
    3. Spot metering
    4. Better AF
    5. 5fps as opposed to 2.5/3fps
    6. Larger buffer
    7. Longer shutter life
    8. Brighter VF (I think)
    9. ISO display in VF (temporary)
    10. That nice big wheel on the back.

I am sure there are more benefits but isnt that enough to make you feel better.
