I was dragged along last Friday to watch my daughter’s team playing hockey so naturally I spent my time snapping. Here are a few for your comments. The light was very contrasty.
Hi Dave, The last 2 shots re the best for me, as there are less players / clutter in the background. I’m guessing the lens was F5.6 or so, so you have a large (in sports terms) DOF, meaning that other players as well as the players in action are almost in focus.
They could be a lot sharper, but that may not mean you were out of focus – did you re-sharpen them for web sizes?
You could have forced the camera to underexpose by a 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop, which gives you a higher SS (good!), but also saves the hights ont he white tops etc.
