You’ve got all the elements you need here.

    A good subject,
    Srong background, midground, foreground elements,
An overhanging branch to help with the framing

But put it all together and the composition doesn’t quite all fit together somehow. All I can suggest is to walk around the location before you even take the camera out of the bag to see if there is a position that you can use all these elements to your advantage.

Still very peaceful and restful. Just the kind of place I love to be.

I think you need to add a bit more blue to it..it’s a tad bit too yellow for me…

    Hey Mick,

Did a quick edit (hope you don’t mind). Just a sharpen and colour balance.

Is it just me or does it need some CCW rotation?

I like what Ali did, it’s more natural looking. Less red in it. It does need some CCW alright.

Just had a closer look and and it does need a slight CCW it was tough trying to keep balance in the middle of the stream just
    glad i didn’t fall in.

It just goes to show you what a fresh pair off eyes will see.

I like Ali’s edition. It’s more life and ‘crispy’. But I agree with Andy about the position.

I would’ve used a longer shutter speed, waited for better light and chosen a different angle.
