Taken near the upper lake at Glendalough in Co Wicklow on Saturday. There were lots of these little mushrooms scattered about. First time there and its a lovely spot, great autumn colour. Bit windy though.

    Thanks for looking :)

Lovely colours, very shallow DOF. What lens are you using?

Not really sure about the DOF on this, the focus seems to jump from the foremost moss to the mushroom, with everything inbetween lost.

While it would have been good to see more of the mushroom in focus.

I think the DOF is just a little too shallow on this, was this intended?. The Sporophytes on the moss are a little distracting as well for me……/Mikka

Cheers Peter & Mick. I have the same shot with all the elements in focus but i couldnt get low enough to shoot it with a blurred background. I have a couple from a different angle that might work better. Macro is very much still a learning process for me so any advice much appreciated. :)
