Hi, I know many shots of this scene, had a go on Saturday Last, would welcome any CC
as I intend to post this image for an online course I’m doing.

Eddie, it’s a nice shot but nothing special as you were left down by the poor light. I think it’s worth a revisit with better light, sunrise or sunset on a clear day. Also I think if the weather was better you might get a better reflection off the lake.

I’d tend to agree with Seaview,
The light is a little harsh,
I think there could be a bit more detail in the sky ,
the image as a whole is just a little flat and could do with a little punch,
Maybe a slight push of the saturation.

EddieDthis is much better, but no detail in the sky, next time you come across a situation like this expose for the foreground and one for the sky and combine both in photoshop,

I’d say that it’s a big improvement from the original,
I’d agree with Philip about two exposures,
Another way is to shoot in RAW , and process the RAW file twice, once for the foreground and the second for the sky,
Then blend them together in PS.
I had a quick fiddle with it to get a little bit of detail back in the sky……………Thanks all for taking time to comment and give your views on my improvement attempt .
Here’s where I expose my lack of experience.(no pun intended).Paul, the original was shot in Raw which I still have unaltered.
I use Elements8. Can I merge as you suggest .
Can I ask how do I process for the seperate area’s ie foreground & sky
and then merge as one.
