I must apologise for not introducing myself before now and particularly before posting some of my photos.My name is Dave and I live in Clonsilla, Dublin 15. I was born in Dublin in 1953 but I wouldn’t call myself a jackeen because my father was born in Templeogue which was considered to be the country in 1917.
I have been interested in taking “snaps” since the early 1970s when I bought my first camera to capture wild holiday moments in places like Benidorm. I then lost enthusiasm for a while and in the last few years I have been trying to ramp up my interest and skills to give me a pastime for retirement which I hope is not too far away.
I bought a Canon 350D and kit lens last year and I have some old analogue cameras – both 35mm and 6X6 cm – which I try to use from time to time.
I am very impressed with the helpfulness of the members on this forum and I hope it can continue in the same vein.

Just brought myself a Canon 350D with a standard lens this month, but I’m still working out how to get the best from it.
