EddieParticipant
Ilford’s new paper is available soon, Its a fine art fibre multigrade paper with a textured base. Read about it below, available in April.

damien.murphyParticipantThe web seems to be full of positive reviews for the new paper. Only caveat I believe, is that due to the texture of the paper, it doesn’t scan very well
MartinParticipantIt does look a nice paper, Wolfgang got some nice colours and tones from it.
Its supposed to be a little more expensive than Ilford MGWT paper but I do hope to try a a boxthefizzParticipantdamien.murphy wrote:

Ah thats a very minor problem Damien  , if it prints well then thats all that matters. It sounds like the kind of paper I’ve been wishing for :D
Can’t wait to get my hands on it when its available.texMemberI made a few prints with ART 300 today and am most impressed. I love the look and feel of the paper. I’ll be buying more when this lot is gone.
thefizzParticipantI saw some prints on this paper in Gunns recently and thought they looked very nice. I’ll be trying it soon myself :)
MartinParticipantBought a box the other week. Have made two prints from the paper and really like it. Will be buying another box of it. Hopefully Gunns get more of it in
EddieParticipantAlso like it, have tried it with Multigrade developer 1+ 5 and really liked the result. Toned some of the images for a dark brown colour but had a slight selenium look when wet. They eventually dried out a darker brown. However a quick test a week earlier with same developer but had 50mm Potassimum Bromide added and the toned prints were a colder dark brown which I really liked. (bromide was used as I was also using some out of date paper during this sesssion). I have some warm tone developer which I will also try on the next session. Overall It dries really flat and has a lovely texture on a white base. I did notice the emulsion get scratched on one of my prints during toning, may have been my rough handling or over washing, but may be something we need to watch.
texMemberI developed mine in Multigrade WT (1+9) and am quite happy with the results. Despite doing a toning course I am reluctant to try out anything with these shots as I want to submit them for an exhibition being held by FADU. Anyone interested in meeting up to compare our results with the paper?
EddieParticipantVincent, I will hold out on a meet up, only just got back printing so have a bit of a backlog of negatives to print. Will also need to get some printing done for Peoples Photography over the next month or two. September might be a good time for a meet up, give us plenty of time to get to grips with this new paper. Good luck with the FADU project.
texMemberI think you are probably right Eddie, I was just excited by the look of the new paper. September or thereabouts would be a better meet-up time in order to give other people a chance to do some printing. I will place a notice on the other site nearer the time.
Cheers
Vincent
