anybody been to the gran canaria to take photos their any info appriciated whats it like for photography out there cheers folks
brendancullenParticipantHi Dave – i was there a few years ago – but the photography bug hadn’t bitten yet. Its a beautiful island – full of so many different types of landscape / seascapes – from tropical forests and spectacular mountains & lakes to desert sand dunes ( with camels).
Sunrises and sunsets not far from each other. The nightspots are… well…typical nightspots.
Porto del Mogan is nicknamed named ‘little venice’ – and the capital Las Palmas is a typical spainish city. You will have no shortage of oppourtunites. Palmitos Park has dolphins and birds of prey. http://www.palmitospark.es/horarios.php

Hire a car/motorbike is my number one bit of advice. Its 50km north to south and east to west.
hope this helps

shutterbugParticipantAgree with Bren, one of the nicer Islands to visit, make sure to bring a
polariser! I think the nicest sun set I ever saw was in Las Palomas at the
lighthouse.bigalguitarpickerParticipantI’ve been to Playa del Inglese a few times. Last visit coincided with Gay/Lesbian/Bi festival which ended with a free open air concert headlined by Boney M (well, that’s what the posters claimed!) dancing in the street til the wee small hours at the Yumbo Center, which is where the gay bars are concentrated. He-males, She-males, Trannies and Hookers all strutting their stuff! No shortage of photo opportunities everywhere you looked, with everyone happy to strike a pose. my wife was greatly taken with the great legs the Trannies had on show. Alas, I have no photos left except for a couple I printed, lost the lot in a crash a couple of years ago. (No, of course I hadn’t any backup!)
