Grand Canal, Dublin

Took this on a recent walk along the Grand Canal in Dublin….C&C welcome…thanks
Hi, Eddie and welcome to PI.
You have some great pictures on your website,
there is one of I think, the Grand Canal taken from the left bank, that I particularly like.
This one you have posted might be better if the water flowing over the lock gates were a bit brighter,
maybe wait until the sun moved around, or dodge it a bit. And the sky is a bit uninteresting.I like this. Anytime I think of Dublin I think loads of people, traffic fumes, noise, hustle and bustle. This has a nice fresh relaxing air to it.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback…Good point about the locks…i guess that just highlights the point about sharp shadows in the midday sun. I must visit the place again during the morning (actually, evening is probably better since the sun sets over the bridge and buildings in the background).

This looks like a good location and you have captured a
nice image.The trees, water and reflections look good and the DOF is fine.
The sky and the detail under the bridge have already been mentioned
but a revisit with better conditions might sort those issues out.Well done.

I like this, its a very refreshing view of Dublin. I agree with what was said above and I look forward to seeing something similar to this with the sunset as you mentioned.
