Greetings and salutations!

ImagineParticipant
Hi,
Figured it was time to loose my posting virginity and drop a quick note to introduce myself.
I’m 32, a Dub, just got a Canon EOS 350D and love it for helping me to begin to see again. What I mean by that is I love that I have begun to notice the simple things again, the way the light reflects of buildings on my bus ride home, the character in the faces of the junkies I pass in the street, the small details that adorn buildings etc etc etc. I guess I had become a little jaded with the “sameness” of everything around us but when you begin to look again you find interesting things all around you. It reminds of that Jonathan Swift quote “There’s none so blind as they that won’t see”.
I’ll post some pics for C&C soon but they’ll be rough as I spend all day at a computer so I’m not ever going to be into editing.
Anyhooooowwww, before I bore you all to tears I’ll bring this ramble to an end by mentioning that I’m starting the classes at the Dublin Camera Club tonight so if anyone else is and would like to say hi then please do. Obviously, I’m happy to hear from everyone else too.
Ciao.
Darren
Brian_CParticipantHi and welcome Darren. I know what you mean about noticing little things around us. I’m starting a C&G course tonight too, although mine is in Newtownabbey near Belfast. Look forward to seeing your work.
Welcome and good luck with the course.
MarkKeymasterWelcome Darren, glad to decided to start posting with us :)
Thanks
MarkAliParticipantHey Darren, welcome to the site :) I think photography makes you see the world in a totally different way, you’re definitely right.
Happy posting, and when you get into editing ;) which i know you will… you’ll spend all night on the computer :) Happy posting,
look forward to seeing your work.SodafarlMemberBrian_C wrote:

Brian Which course is it you are doing I was looking at a couple in East Antrin Inst but couldn’t get the info, let me know how it goes. OOPs probably should have PM’d.
By the way Darren welcome and enjoy the talent on tihs forum. I didn’t know there were so many professional photographers in Ireland.
SodaRobMemberImagineParticipantThanks to everyone for taking the time to welcome to me to the site, very much appreciated.
Ciao.

DakyParticipantDarren
I only lost my posting virginity a couple of days ago, but so far everyone has been nice to me. Seems like a friendly place.
I can also relate to your comment about photo editing. I also spend all day in front of a computer so the last thing i want to do for relaxation is to spend hours in front of a screen. i can do the (very) basics and that enough for me.positronMemberWelcome Darren! Same thoughts as Daky here – new here, and everyone has been very helpful!
gerrygParticipantHi Darren,welcome along.
Look forward to seeing your work.
I have thought for a long time of joining the Dublin camera club, do lets know your thoughts. I went as a guest once to a slide show which I really enjoyed but was bored by all the techies looking for info ????
Anyway, enjoy your postings…….
Gerryg.joe_elwayParticipantWelcome on board. You’ll love that camera. And you are so right about seeing detail in the world again. I’ve found stuff that sat right under my nose since I was a child that I never noticed before. You’ll spend less time on the couch and more time out’n’about.
