Greetings from Enfield

Hi to all members of this interesting forum.
I have had an interest in Digital Photography on and off for a few years now, and in between these years many other demands had to be attended to on the domestic front..! I have decided to park my golf (poorly played off 18) and concentrate on improving with my photography. Kinda have all the kit I need apart from a couple more lenses, my 40D works well for my needs at this stage.
I have not made that next step yet, and really focused on this hobby, I have been messing about on the edges and I have become more and more frustrated practicing mistakes…if you know what I mean. I understand most of the basics and I have joined here to hopefully make some connections with other budding amateurs who may find themselves in the same situation as myself, compare notes and perhaps meet up and chat and practice.
I have not gone down the club route (yet), and this may happen at some stage but not now.
So here I am warts and all and with the common interest to improve and enjoy something that has always fascinated me more as an art rather then a “hobby”
Regards to all
Paul
5faytheParticipantHi Paul,
Welcome to PI.
That’s a very good introduction.
I think you have come to a very good place.Lots of help to be had and even reading the comments on other member’s
posts can be very educating. You should post some of your images on here as well and see what is said
about them.Specific questions will usually be answered in double quick time.
All in all I have found the site to be both interesting and entertaining.
Hope you do too.
Cheers.
John.
miki gParticipantHi Paul.
Welcome to PI. Forget that ould golf, this is more fun (and you can even play with this in the dark :D :D ). Hope you enjoyobroinParticipantWelcome to the site Paul and I hope you enjoy it here. Good bunch
of guys and dolls here. Wouldnt give up on the golf though, you can
always hang the camera on the bag, never know what you will see
on a golf course as far as wild life is concerned. Enfield should hold
plenty of interesting photo opportunities with the Bog of Allen just
round the corner.Cheers, Matt
BMParticipantshutterbugParticipanteskermanParticipantMany thanks for the warm welcomes above.
I will get some photos up for comments and critique at some stage. I suppose I would be keen to get my better ones up here
I have parked the golf apart from my younger son who has taken on the baton and its kinda obsessed with the game, I admit to failure in trying to win him over to photography, which he thinks is boring..! clearly this is an uphill battle and it will be the subject of many disagreements no doubt. With Christmas more or less over ( :D ) I am going to make some me-time for photography, I will drift in and out of the threads here and join in if I have some worthwhile contributions to make.
Look forward to learning and making some friends here on the forum.
Sincere Regards
Paul
