Haven’t posted a photo for critique in a while. Came across this one from a walk last October with Madra Rua from Bray to Greystones and liked the sky.
C&C Welcome
BrickeeParticipantlousyParticipantIt is a lovely image all right, and I might be tempted to say loose some sky but it is a lovely sky.
My problem is the middle of the image… the larger of the boats especially, appear a little soft and generally looses clarity along the center of the image. Thats just my opinion.
Cheers
PatMartinParticipantSuper shot Podge, id say it looks great in print. Really nice sky and colours in this really well done

PS: Whats up with yourself and Hauke have yee given up the photography, your both very quite these days:-)
irishshaguaParticipantNice image. Great wispy clouds. I’d crop some of the stones off from the bottom of the shot as I think they get a bit repetitive and I think the clouds hold more interest than the stnes but the sky gets very dark at the top of the frame. Did this happen in post processing. I;ve noticed before some of my skies can get this effect from trying to blance out the histogram. Just a thought.
Nice picture though. I think the horizon is looking for a landscape type crop but the sky nearly justifies the portrait style so I;m not sure which would be better. Very nice tones on the horizon though.

nfl-fanParticipantDo I like it… you’re damn right I do.
Do I wish I’d taken it… checks that box as well.
Have I come back for a second look… yep
Would I print it and frame it on the wall… yep
You get where I’m going?
petercoxMemberVery nice image, Podge. I would also crop out some of the shingle in the foreground to balance the image and draw more attention to the sky.
Cheers,
PeterRobMemberLovely.
I quite like the shingle in the foreground – substantial detail
there and it adds to the overall layering, so I wouldn’t be
tempted to crop at all, but maybe that’s just a personal
preference.Flaws? Possibly, but do they matter? Lovely image, works
perfectly well as it is imo….Rob.
