Grown man crying

I have posted some shots from the riots in Dublin earlier this year already, but this is one I revisted and re-edited “a little“. Comments welcome as always
ValentiaMemberPowerful image Ciaran. The vignette really does help focus on the emotion. I might have just “layered” in a little more sharpness on the eyes. Just a small point and a personal one. Your riot shots are all excellent.

RobertoMemberPerfect expresion of the face, light, sharpness………..
I am only not sure about the hair.gerardkParticipantAliParticipanti love this shot. :) Great post processing and gives a totally new perspective compared to the first version – the editing really works well and i love the way you manipulated the image to give the rim and hair lighting. it!
ciaranParticipantThanks everyone.. amazing what a bit of PS can do!
Valentia, I think you’re right re the sharpening of the eyes. I’ll make sure to do it before printing it off. Thanks for the comments.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantCiaran, I remember liking the original (colour?) image very much, but personally I am not sure about this version. What I dont like about it is the separation of the hair from the face by the area of deep shadow. The blood in the hair is such an important part of the image – the fact that the man has been injured is intrinsically linked to the expression contained in his eyes, and personally I would lessen the shadows on the forehead if possible – particularly if there was more blood on the forehead (!)
ciaranParticipantCheers Brandyman. The original one was indeed in colour, but ssssh don’t tell anyone ;) The hair was something I brushed back in after the vigntetting and personally I’m still not convinced about it. Other people have made the same comment too, so I may revisit it when I go for the final print image. Luckily it’s easy enough to brush out. The original image doesn’t actually have any blood in it, but from the environment the man finds himself in and the fact he’s being tended to by a paramedic, I guess it makes you picture blood where it isn’t? I’ll take a look again at the vignetting. Thanks for the comments.
Not Pete the blokeParticipantIs that not blood in his hair (high above his right eye, the left side of the image as you look at it?) Looks like a blob of blood….maybe its Garda issue brylcream? lol
ciaranParticipantRobertoMemberCiaran, after seen the original, you did perfect editing job. Only the hair came up not for my taste.
