Groyne.

Fascinating title John….
Nice light and conversion – one suggestion; since you shot from an elevated position, I’d like to see the sky cropped
out, which would make it more s study of the surf, rather than a seascape.
Make any sense? (I just follow my nose in these things) :DPeteWMemberAgree with Ken here, it feels like you’ve taken this from an elevated position and the sky just doesn’t seem to sit right (even though that’s where it’s supposed to be!)
Is it possible to get down and close to the groyne itself ??

Thanks for taking the time to comment.
While processing the image I considered the crop you mentioned.
I obviously made the choice of including the sky but can’t remember
any compelling reason why.I’ve done the suggested crop & posted it below.
A groyne, as far as I understand it, is a breakwater running into the sea from the land
constructed to stop the erosion of the land. There is a major problem with erosion in
this area.John.
EDIT: Thanks for your reply Pete. Our replies crossed in the post.
Yes it is possible to get close to this structure. I may already
have something like this. If not I can easily revisit as I live very
close by.
JodyParticipantThe shot with the sky cropped out is much stronger. The lines are excellent, your eye can stroll into the photo from both left hand corners.

Yeh . . . definitely much stronger without the sky.
