Ok Then the U 12 football team again with some under 10’s.
Odhran
Eoin
Mick (u10)
Murder at the u 8’s Go Games
I really enjoy these youngsters playing, the first one Odhran has 3 more years at u12 football and is an exceptional talent (at any sport apparently)at gaelic football.
SodamervifwdcParticipantLooks like you had fun! It’s trickier with the younger kids, and they are not as predictable as the adults.
First off, the shutter speed killed you. The blur is nice (from an arty picture point of view) but most non-photographers would not like it so much. Around 1/400 is as show as I like to go, and that usually has the players heand and body sharp, and a little blur in whatever limbs are moving very fast – but little blur. I would prefer to have some digital noise (from a high ISO) than too much blur.
I like the third shot the best. They are all pretty good given the limitations of a slower lens.(a faster one just gets rid of everything behind the action).

SodafarlMemberMerv. Totaly agree with you I didn’t knotice that the camera mode was on portrait don’t ask  .
The first one the fella’s Dad loved it and has a print of it already. It really is good fun but hard at times as I am ateam mentor as well. The third one isn’t too bad and he scored a lovely point from it not bad for someone that is only 8 yer old playing at a higher age group.
Will definitely try tour advice.
Thanks
SodaS-ManMemberExpresbroParticipantNot like me to be hanging around the sports thread..hehehe!! But I’m trying to pick up some pointers as I really enjoyed my own soccer shoot.
I like the third one best too. It’s nice and sharp and great facial expressions. Having the lens in Portrait mode would not help for sure Carl… Ouch!!
I just have this image of you running up and down the line…looking through the lens then letting a roar ..then looking through the lens..then letting another roar and …….

SodaExpresbroParticipantmervifwdcParticipantSodafarlMemberMerv thanks for the link mind I don’t think there is much chance of me spending $32000 of gear.
Will enjoy reading it I hope.
SodamervifwdcParticipantYeah, I think as trying to scare the crap out of people with the ticket prices, but I think he has some good bits abd bobs on there that does not rely on spending a fortune on gear.
There is a better soccer page with tips that I’m looking for but I forgot to bookmark :-(
I’ll post again when/if I find it.
Merv.
ExpresbroParticipantIt was an interesting read okay Merv. I agree that there are points that us mere mortals can find useful too. :D
