Haworth Church HDR

-Oy-Participant
HDR seems to be the in-thing at the moment. Here’s one of mine.
This is St Michael and All Angels Church in Haworth, Yorkshire. Home of the Bronte Sisters and all that literary gubbins.
Jay KingParticipantLovely HDR… they seem to be popping up everywhere now! The thing is though, a lot of the time they don’t need to be HDR. In this case I think you’ll get away with it… The textures and colours are great, and the symmetry is spot on.
The handle that is down on the pew on the left… at first I though… “aw why didn’t you put it down like the rest!?!” – but then I though maybe you did it on purpose to balance out the ‘flag’ on the right?! If so… very clever. If not… doh!
RobMemberFor me I’m afraid this one’s just way over the top, almost
a cartoon. While the symmetry is perfect (how much correction
did you have to do?), the colours have been pushed to the point
where it looks like a computer generated graphic. I actually
like the image, from a perspective and compositional point of
view, it’s just the HDR aspect that’s killing it for me…Rob.
nfl-fanParticipantYep, it is cartoonish, no doubt… but it’s also fun to be able to push things in different directions and a little experimentation every now and again never hurt anyone.
I find this very interesting.. the fact that you’ve taken a real life shot and turned it into something surreal.
It’s pretty amazing the amount of detail going on in the shot. The symmetry is good too.
This sort of HDR is more about fun than artistic merit and I enjoy seeing the odd cartoon effect once it’s well done, which is the case here.
DeeboParticipantGood Shot Oy, I like it too. I like the cartoon affects and I have some church HDRs to post today

-Oy-ParticipantThanks for the feedback guys.
Yeah – this one looks a bit cartoony – which was my intention for this shot. The Vicar wanted something a little different – and she got it :D
I’ve also won two local competitions with the shot and I’m entering it as a 16×12″ print into our regional camera association annual competition. Fingers, toes and spleen crossed! :D
