I’m not sure MCW. All the other ladies around here said I was really hot. But anyway… less said about that the better.

    Thanks for the comments.

Ah right…you had me going there…thought the amnesia had set in and I owed you money. ;-)

Anyway, before Mark swoops in – I like your picture, it’s nice.

You lot are so cliquey. What are you all talking about? Why are you trying
    to exclude us this way?

I would be on the fence on this one John but there’s not one to be found in this shot.

I’m a little surprised that this hasn’t got more positive comments, because I love it. But I guess the posting of this photo shows me that minimalism in photography has it’s audience, of which I’d include myself. I thought this slightly more unusual approach to landscape photography would be liked more – it’s something that I like to do too. I love classic landscape photography that ticks all the boxes (big foreground interest, leading lines, taken in the “golden hours” etc) – but the emptyness in some landscape shots makes me look even more. But, like I say, it’s apparent that it’s just different tastes.
I love the muted colour and the fact that it’s not tightly cropped – it really shows that the tree is more alone than we’d appreciate if the frame was tighter.
My only question over this picture would be the strength of the vignetting, as I think it makes the “framing” tighter without actually cropping, but other than that I think it’s a great job.

I added it to my ffffound account, NFL, so it’s got a wee bit of exposure elsewhere too.

Cheers folks. Nice to see you stop by Chris.

I quiet like it myself.. and that’s not because I took the photograph.

I find the tree simple and elegant, the way it leans slightly to the left, the little humps that feature along the grass, the fences posts that run along the background.

I’m not convinced that the post processing is the best, I looked at a number of different options and this was the best of a not so great bunch.

So… I like it, but I’m not 100% convinced about it.

    Thanks again.

PS. Some good photos on your FFFFOUND… love that cat… oh and those trees on Page 3. Some nice ideas just had in that 2 minute browse that I might nick!

Yeah it’s a good resource that site – you just bookmark images on the net that you like, but they’re not opening any new accounts anymore.

I stop by your flickr occasionally, and like what’s on there.
I stick mainly to mono because my colour perception and processing is pants. Plus I like the feel black and white gives certain images.
    Keep ‘er lit.
