Hi

My name is Simon from Dublin … I’ve been into photography for a few years now. All film up to about 2 years ago … and mostly with second hand or borrowed gear …. With the advent of digital SLR’s at “reasonable” (and I use this term very loosely folks) money I am now able to bring my technology, IT and gadgets background into play. So I have now really been bitten by the digital bug having switched to mostly digital these days … and now I can finally afford some gear of my own too … :oops:

I don’t really have a site yet (working on this) but I combine my love of photography with a passion for travel to far flung places and writing about the experience … so I posted some pictures in my half finished Egypt travel blog … be gentle, this is not me at my best I promise –

I just got wind of this forum through a poster in one of my threads (master of the realm) in boards.ie … thanks master …

I hope you do not think this newbie so bold and cheeky … but we have a campaign running targetting the pricing policy of Canon in Ireland … we are getting progress from Canon on pricing in Ireland (see my post in the thread) … so but I would really love any of you Canon users out there to post your views and vote in the poll on this thread at boards if you can find a minute or two to spare –

Firstly … thanks for the warm welcome everyone …

Secondly – In realtion to the Canon prcing thread mentioned above by Dave. If you are only voting in poll on the thread of this site will you please add a note in the post to let me know so I can cross reference it with the one in boards.ie … also if your user id in boards is different to here then please let me know also.

This will help me use the poll more effectively when talking to Canon.
