Hello from a newbie

Hi
I heard about this site yesterday at a training class for new Canon users given by Dave McKane of IOP. I bought a Canon 450D last November after getting caught again by the photography bug when I finally gave into buying myself a compact digital about 18 months ago. I had so much fun snapping away with it that I indulged myself with the move to SLR. Since then I’ve been out most weekends taking photos, weather permitting, and really enjoying it.
I’d love to get a good sense of where my photograpyh is at. The course yesterday showed me that although I have the basic knowledge, I still have lots to learn and I hope that this site may help me with that.
