    Hi all,

My name is Kevin and am new to the world of DSLR photography. I have just bought an Olympus e-450 and to be honest it’s a big jump from the old point and shoot digital camera I had. Just wondering if anyone around Cork would be able to help me out getting started, also am interested in knowing if anyone heads out around the city day or night taking photo’s.

Looking forward to hearing from you all and becoming a member here,

    Kev.

Hi and welcome to the site, I’m living in East Cork and I was thinking of organizing a local PI event in the next few weeks. Maybe an early morning trip to the Roches Point lighthouse might be worth a visit. It’s great this time of year as the sunrise isn’t too early.

Sounds good to me Dave, count me in and keep me posted, just hope i can get to terms with the new camera by then.

    Anyone else up for it.

I’ll setup an event Kevin in the events forum and see what numbers we get. I had a look at your flickr account and there’s some fine shots there, some lovely night shot. I assume you have a tripod already and I would advise you to get a remote as they prevent a lot of camera shake.

Thanks for the kind comments Dave but would ya believe all them shoots were taken with a Samsung WD600 point and shoot camera and a Ricoh Caplio R6. Since I traded up to the Olympus I can’t get anything like them shots, it’s doing my head in, I know the camera can do it, it’s me that has to come up to speed, but finding it hard to get my head around all the settings. I’m hoping that’s where people on the site might help out.

    ANY HELP WELCOMED…

Hey animal, sounds like it could be the blind leading the blind if two of us heat out on a shot, ha ha, but ya sounds like a good idea, who know we might be better that we think. Will stay in touch,
