Hi all,
My name is Ciaran and i’m new to photography.I’ve only been shooting a few months this year so i’m still getting to grips with my equipment and photography in general.I’m also booked in on a beginners course with Peter Cox in a couple of weeks time.Would love to hear from people who have more knowledge than me about photography.Thank’s all. :wink:5faytheParticipantHi Ciaran,
Welcome to Pi.
If it’s info you need theres lots to be had round here.I’d say going on one of Peter’s courses would be a good move.
Good luck.
John.
brownieParticipantHi Ciaran,
Welcome to PI from a fellow Waterford man, are you from Tramore or just moved there?
There are a few more of us on PI from Waterford or you can join the Waterford Camera
Club at http://www.waterfordcameraclub.com
Tonight was our last meeting for the summer but if you look in our site during July you will
be able to see our new programme.Best of luck on PI and I am sure you will get lots of help
from eveyone.Noel Browne.
shutterbugParticipantAlan RossiterParticipantWelcome along Ciaran. I see you’ve an expensive taste in bikes as well as camera equipment!
Hope you enjoy it here and post plenty of racing shots – they’re a little short around these parts of late.
Alan.
PinarelloMemberThank’s very much for the kind words lads/ladies.Ye sure know how to make someone feel at home.I do have a lot of racing shots as i go to the races most weekends. My pictures are a little better than they were at the start of the season in March. (with Campagnolo Record, I presume :D )Yes indeed i do have a fondness for Campagnolo Record, but only the 10speed.No way will i pay the prices the shops are looking for Super Record 11speed.I have a Pinarello Paris with Record carbon 10 speed, a Colnago Dream HP with Chorus 10 speed and a Colnago C50 HP with wait for it…Dura Ace 10 speed…tsk,tsk..hehe.
Alan RossiterParticipantGizzoParticipantI have a heart attak just by looking to a 50+ chainring :D

compact is the way to go, or even a triple crank….53×39 on the front and a 12-21 block on the back for me.The only time i’ll buy a compact is if i do La Marmotte.I never knew there were so many cyclists on this Photography forum. This is brilliant… :D

What…no 11? Wuss!
And as for a triple…oh dear!
Half the blokes in Ireland can’t turn an 11,they might like to think they can….. :D
