Hello – Great site! Newbie looking to get more serious

Hey Guys,
Just stumbled upon this site – great site I must say everyone is very friendly and I’m learning lots already. My name is Colin, Im 26 and live in Dublin. I’ve loved my photography for years, but only now am i getting more serious and will soon be buying a DLSR. Currently I hvae been using a Canon Ixus 65 – you can see my photos here: http://www.zascar.com/photos – redirects to my flickr account.

lukeYes I have been very lucky to be in some beautiful places and capture some magnificent memories. Thanks I’m delighed you like my work. I’m quote proud of it for just a cigarette boxed sixed camera, but I’m soon to get a DSLR and hopefully take it to the next level.

Welcome aboard Colin. I’m in a similar situation. I have a Fujifilm S5600 ..a sort of wannabee DSLR..but I’m hoping to make the step up to a full DSLR, but it wont be for quite a while yet..Financial constraints an all that. Up till I got the Fuji i was working with a compact digital too.
There’s a thread about a trip to Dublin Zoo actually…give it a look as you might be interested.

Thanks guys, I really have to say that in the small few days I’ve been reading this forum, it is full of the most incredibly friendly and helpful bunch of people I have come across on any message board.
Just spending a few days reading opinions and looking at other peoples work has realy rekindled my passion for photography, I just can’t wait to get my new camera and start really getting into it!
