“understanding exposure” is a great book, easy to read and really easy
to grasp. Another way is to just spend time taking photographs, find a nice
scene and take as many shots as you can varying the settings, use auto to
get you started and study the settings the camera picks then start experimenting,
put the camera in “S” shutter mode and take a few shots changing the aperture to
see what different results you get, then try the same with “A” aperture mode,
then you bite the bullet and select “M” manual, you will need a fairly small aperture
for landscapes so go for f22 and just try different shutter speeds until you get a
combination that you like. It really is down to using the settings to see what they
do, it will soon become second nature to pick the settings you need.
Then you need to use filters/polarisers etc! lol….it is neverending.
