Not being technical can any one help when I tried to start my desktop this evening I got the following blue screen message
Stop: c0000135 {unable to locate component} This application has failed to start because kernel32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem
OS is Windows XP
How do I reinstall this if I cannot start the computer?

This happened to me a couple of months ago, I tried using the repair disk/windows install option but it didn’t work
and I ended up reinstalling Windows fresh (didn’t reformat the drive though!).I hope someone can help without you having to go to that extreme…
Hi,
I had this problem on a laptop not so long ago as well, I didn’t have the cd’s for it so I ended up removing windows and installing ubuntu. If you have the cds for your PC you should be able to repair it. Just boot the PC with the windows cd in the drive and you should be given an option to do a repair.
