Hello all. Could one of you share your expert knowledge please.
I have limited knowledge of how to shoot a landscape or anything outdoors really.
I tried to take a hand-held shot of a waterfall while in Sligo last week. I failed miserably!
Would one of you kind souls please tell me what I need to do to get a reasonable shot.
Do I need to use filters? If so, which ones?
Should I always stick the camera on a tripod?
I presume shutter speed is just a matter of preference.
Here is one of my shots. Please ignore the composition. It’s the technical info I need. I can experiment with the creative stuff.
You don’t say what you’re having difficulty with. And technical info is simply a means to an end. If you could articulate what it is you wish to try and achieve creatively, it would be easier to make technical suggestions. However, one point I would make at this stage is “Use a tripod!” regardless of what you’re trying to achieve as the end result.

1) Use a tripod
2) to get a nice effect you cant take waterfalls on a sunny day
3) use slow s/speeds (1 sec about f/25)
