Hi, was up in PC world today and I bought a Lexar 8GB premium 60x SD card, hoping it would be compatible with my Panasonic Lumix Point and shoot, it doesnt appear to be because my camera says to check the card.
Would it be a matter of formatting the card or will I have to return it?
I use up mem cards so quickly as I am shooting Raw now.
try formatting it, what have you got to lose. After that bring card and camera into the shop and get them to give you the correct card or replace the card if its broken
Hi, I bought a cheapo 4GB card in Aldi a while ago. While it wouldn’t work in a point and shoot [can’t remember the error message] it does work in my D80.
At 8GB the card is likely to be SDHC. Not all cameras can handle this type of SD card. Generally speaking it is only newer cameras that can handle it. You don’t say what model of Lumix you’re using but my guess is that is can only handle standard SD cards.
