    I was just playing about earlier on with my new macro lense,only took about 6 pics,BUT,no matter what setting i was on,there were 2 too 3 small flashing parts that were washed out.

    I cannot understand this,as it was a dull day.

    Exposure comp was off,and i had the white balance right for the shooting.

    the only thing i can think of,is the middle of the flower was dark,and the petels were bright.
    Is this the case,or is there any thing i have missed,

    Sean , if you show one of the pictures hopefully someone can help you out.Very hard to work out just from the description.

    it sounds like without looking at an image

    that the problem is there is too much dynamic range for your camera to capture. your camera can only capture a certain limited range of light. so if there are quite dark sections and quite bright sections the range between them maybe too much range for the camera

    if you shot raw you may be able to bring back some of the details from the highlights

    but the best thing is to show us an image so some of the knowledgeable people here could help figure it out

    I nactually deleted the pics,with disgust,LOL.
    But will take some more today,
