Help, Repair Camera

Hey,
I was wondering if someone could help me. While on holidays my Nikon d40x gave me the message ‘Error Please Press Shutter Button Again’. When I do press it, there is a noise like a spring. I was wondering if someone could recommend a place to get it repaired preferrably in Cork

Just bring it back to the shop where you bought it? Otherwise there is only Nikon repair agent in Ireland, SLR Service: 046-9557151 (in Meath).
He bought it from me and i only got a 1 year`warranty. Cam is only 23 months old
Its the shutter curtain i hear that easy enough to fix if you know what you are doing.

I was talking to a friend who has Nikon gear, and this is what he says…The only guy repairing Nikon in Ireland is that guy in Westmeath, I was at the Photovision Show yesterday and met a guy from Advanced Camera Services in UK and they could also repair the D40 for you http://www.advancedcameraservices.co.uk also you could try these guys http://www.protechrepairs.co.uk and they are also very good

I recently had to send a nikon lens to the SLR service center in Meath. I was very happy with the service i got, they looked at the lens, told me what it would cost to fix and then sent the lens back good as new and all within a 4 days as i was under pressure and needed the lens for a wedding the following week :-)
Would definatly recomend them and i will be using them again for servicing, maintance etc.
