    yea, me too

But hey, does not hurt once in a while

I found myself having to read the manual fo my speedlite over christmas, which by the way is thicker than the manual for my bloody camera!!!!

I got the Colorvision Spyder2express recently for ?122. It is s bit of a shock when you first do the calibration. The only thing is that browsers (apart from one on the Apple) don’t do colour management so it is only when you bring an image into something like PS that you are getting the full benefits.

Dell are doing a special on their 20″ widescreen 2007WFP at the moment. 20% off until 31st January plus another 5% off until 10th January. It works out at ?396 delivered with 3 year warranty. It has got reve reviews now that the banding issue has been resolved. The link, if anyone is interested: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ie&l=en&s=dhs&cs=iedhs1&sku=59233

You wont see the reduction until you go to the checkout.

I have the Monaco Optix XR for the monitor and Monaco EZ colour for printer profiling (I paid over ?380.00 for them 3 years ago). They’re really easy to use and make a huge difference. It’s a necessary investments really if you wish to have everything right, otherwise you’ll be pulling your hair out. I have also got a LaCie Blue eye pro screen calibration kit with my new LaCie Monitors a few months back ant that is also really great. Dont know if its available as a standalone kit. Sheldon Long would be able to advise you on that one.

Of course all these things are no more common than a few years back and the prices have fallen so have a good look about!

Conns cameras are doing the spyder2 express for 99 euros at the moment.

Good thing about it is the only difference between that and the pro version is the software.

We are one of the two importers for the Colorvision range of products in Ireland.

If you are near by give me a shout or call in and I’ll see what we could do for you  We do have the Photodisc image on CD along with a print which may help you determine how far out things are. Anyway, monitor calibration starts at ?85.00 ex Vat right up to the Printfix Pro Suite at ?599.00 Ex VAT http://www.tipa.com/awa_detail_2006.lasso?-Search=Action&-Table=web&-Database=awards_2006&-KeyValue=98

This equipment won TIPA award in 2006 for the “Best Colour Management System” and is also one of the most affordable. Some of the members here use this system.
