Help with Software Needed

    Hi All,

Havn’t posted around here for a while but I do keep a check on what is going on. :D

I need your help. I am currently tutoring a group of basic adult learners and I am doing some very basic image processing with them. We are currently using Adobe CS2 software as this is what is provided to me so I have to go with it. None of the learners I have are in a position to purchase this or any software of this nature and it would be really useful to the learners if they had the opportunity to practice on their home computers. I can’t install any of the free programmes to the PC’s as access is blocked. This is where I am hoping someone can help. :!:

When I purchased my Canon 300d some years ago I am almost certain CS2 came free with it, trouble is when I upgraded and I sold on the camera I let all the discs go with it. If anybody purchased a camera from this era I am hoping that you might still have the software and are possibly not using it.

If anybody has I would really appreciate it if you would consider donating it to me and I know for certain it woud be a great boost to my learners, giving them the opportunity to hone their skills.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,
    Stephen.

Could ye not download the free trial of CS5 and use that and if any of them wanted to use it further then they could possibly use GIMP as it works similar to CS5.

You could also encourage them to buy PS Elements which is pretty cheap (relatively speaking) and will do much much more than basic editing.

Or ask the IT department who have blocked the PC’s to download it for you?

    Stephen,

A member would need to donate actual licensed copies which they are not using or did not use as part of an upgrade
    for this to be legal.

Ballyman is right, you could get them to buy PS Elements and possibly if bought under a student of for the course an educational licence
    could be very cheap.

Ballyman, thanks for the advice I will check out your suggestions and see how it goes.

Mark, again thanks for the reply. While it was never my intension to go any direction only the legal route, I can see clearly where you are coming from and how my original post could be misinterpreted. If you think it better to remove this tread please do so. Otherwise Members should consider this tread CLOSED.

    Thanks again
    Stephen.
