Nice bit o stalking there Noely they are hard to get close to. But what is the Green bit? Takes away a bit from a nice picture.
Yeh…very annoying isn’t it.It’s actually a leaf that kept blowing across the lens while I was lurking in the trees :) I had 2 choices…take the leaf off the branch,the heron would have scarpered…or take the shot cos I couldn’t get closer!
Next time I’m bringin a shears :wink:LOL leaf it to mother nature to screw up a nice shot.
:shock: (did he really say that?) :shock:Great work. I got a heron striking a few months ago with my Sigma 70-300mm. I was about 150 yds away and it was twilight. Let’s say the detail was not quite as good as yours!
The first shot really shows how they wrap those massive wings around them. You must be well chuffed with these – leaf or no leaf.
I am quite pleased actually…..but next time I intend to get closer….with no shrubs :wink:
