Ahh thats wonderful, I have taken hundreds of heron shots and have
NEVER even seen heron chicks, they are gorgeous, well done. Never imagined
they would nest in trees either, must be a hoot when they are fledging
Thanks , i was so amazed to see these guys . The Adults werre hovering by the trees so i dicided to sit and wait to see what the fuss was about and i was rewarded with this shot about an hour later.
Great shot, you were definitely lucky to get to see them. I tried for ages lately to get shots of a nest but they were too high up in the trees.
It is hard to imagine what we see as “Water Birds” with nests 30 – 40 feet up in high trees but there are quite a few near the Dog Pond in the Phoenix Park. I have even watched them fighting with Jackdaws recently when gathering materials for the nest……./Mikka
