<3PixelleMemberWelcome to the site, Ierogirl. Great to have such an enthusiastic new member.
Here you will meet a group of photographers; experts and beginners, professionals and amateurs, but all willing to help each other.pete4130MemberAmy,
I’m sure you’ll learn lots from this site. All the members are always as helful and friendly as they can be, so don’t be afriad to ask anything. I’ve shot gigs for a year or two in the past and I relly enjoyed it and found I learned alot from it. I got a bit burnt out fromit though and gave it up for a while, but I’m starting to feel like shooting the music scene again. Just try to experiment as much as possibel with your camera settings and learn what you find works for you. Every show is going to have different lighting but after a while you’ll get an idea how to adapt and work with it the best you can.
Enjoy the site.GCPParticipantAmy,

and staying power ……… and you seem to think along them lines.Best of luck and look forward to your progress.
stasberMemberHi Amy
Welcome aboard. I mostly shoot stage events (gigs/shows) and had I known at the age of 16 how much I enjoy live music and the thrill I get from capturing some of those moments that convey the artist’s character or the atmosphere of the event, then I may have taken a tack similar to yours, and who knows where it would have led me. But as it was, lack of the right stimuli, personal inferiority and parental pressure to ‘get a proper job’ etc kept me on the narrow path.
I can only encourage you to soak up everything you enjoy, explore more and put your feet firmly on your chosen path if that’s where your gut feel is taking you. And from your first Pink Concert post you seem to have an eye for it.
Besides, it’s lonely in the Gigs forum!

can’t offer much advice on the gig photography but i would say your at a good age to just get out there and shoot the crap out of stuff . . new yorks always a good subject. maybe look at cropping some of those images and see what comes out ?
cheers
lukeExpresbroParticipantHi Amy… no need to give you any advice..you’ve just gotten plenty from far more experienced peeps than I.

steelydanParticipantWelcome to the site Amy , hope you get more advice here and stick with your ambitions.
shutterbugParticipantIerogirlParticipantThank u all very very much!
I look forward to getting better and better!
XxxjoolsveerParticipantYou are very welcome Amy. I guess the noise on your gig shots probably stems from using digital zoom which does not work as well as optical zoom. If you can get closer to your subject you can stick to the optical. All I can add is post more photos.
AimeeParticipantYay!! Another Amy/aimee!!!
Welcome to the site.. love your enthusiasim. Looking forward to seeing some of your gig shots.
