Hi All,

Well I’ve got myself a Nikon D60 VR 18 – 55mm Lens kit. Completely new to the DSLR standard of quality, had an old HP 5.1Mpix which called itself a camera; only now do I realize the power of the DSLR! Still very scared at the price of new Lens. I’ve got two tripods, a small Cullmann Mini Tripod (20cm) and a Cullmann Jet-Set Universal (44cm-131cm) both are very cheap but fit into the budget to get me started.
Just have to get some one or two books, any participially good bookshops in Dublin for photography? Planing on getting the following first.
* Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs with a Film or Digital Camera
* Learning to See Creatively: Design, Color & Composition in PhotographyCya round in the forums.
GCPParticipantossie13ParticipantWelcome Jonathan and enjoy the site…………..look forward to seeing some shots from the D60!!
Cheers Steve
DeeboParticipantHi Jonathan welcome to PI
With regards to books. I ebayed a book as per a recommendation from fellow PI members, its called Scott Kelby’s 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop CS3 .
Its an excellent book and only did 4 chapters so far but the difference is staggering.
Highly recommendedCheers, Dee

Highly recommendedGood ol’ Photoshop, I’m still back on v7. Have used the later CS versions in work, but so far haven’t seen any features worth the money to upgrade; well, since I can use it in work of free. Have done allot of Web stuff over the years so me and Photoshop are old friends.
GenieParticipantJonathon,
Welcome to PI, its a brilliant site. Also that book Understanding exposure is excellent.
