Hi from a Canon Newbie…
-
LaineyParticipant
Hi there
I’m Lainey from Dublin and I’ve just joined up. I picked up my new camera a couple of hours ago- a Canon 5D… so I figured that it would be a good day to join up this forum. Have heard great reports about the site…I’ve had a Canon 400D for a few years now and love it. I mostly take photos of my kids as I teach papercraft/scrapbooking part-time and they feature in a lot of my work. I’d love to learn more about studio work as I attended a fantastic course in London this year and got an insight into the area of flash. I’d also like to learn more about landscapes and macro. Mostly I’m interested in photographing people and just documenting day to day life. I’ve been dabbling in CS2 for a few years too- just the basics and some use of actions. I’ve set myself a challenge to get to grips with PS this year.
Anyway, look forward to chatting- I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions… :D

I hope you enjoy being a member and get all the help you ask for.The 5D is a fine camera.
I’m still on the 20D and it’s very good as well.Good luck,
John.
hotjohn01Participantmiki gParticipantKWBarbsParticipantWelcome to the site. The best way to learn on here is to get posting and get some feedback… it really helped me.
LaineyParticipantThanks folks – there’s loads of useful info on the site. Really glad I found it! I’ve just uploaded a few portraits in my gallery- feel free to offer some feedback..(be gentle  )
KWBarbsParticipantLainey,
the photos are very good – expecially like the full face (half cropped) one. But to get feedback the best thing would be to post these in the People section.
LaineyParticipantThanks for that – will post them up in a bit. I’m off to Glendalough now to try out my new camera. Fingers crossed the rain stays away!
