Hi from yet another newbie!

Hi all!
Laura from Dublin here!
I only came across this site this morning while looking for courses in photography, I’ve decided to start to take photography more seriously, up to now I’ve been all point and snap but with some good results so its time for some proper learning now!
I’ve entered a few competitions (with no success :( ) , been photographer at a friend’s wedding, a christening or two, family portraits, and some other bits and pieces but I feel like an impostor as I’m really quite amateur. I think I have an ok eye for a shot but I’m lacking in technique.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for the kind comments about the photos. After looking at some of the shots on this site I know I have a long way to go. Even the ones like the War Memorial ones are as a direct result of the Institute of Photography courses (they were from a field trip Dave who runs the courses organised).

Looking forward to seeing some of your shots soon.
