My name is Brian and I’m from Waterford. I’ve always been interested in photography but never took it seriously. I’ve recently begun the City and Guilds course in the evenings and I’m finding it facinating. Glad I found this site and look forward to posting a few pics and seeing what you guys think.

I guess I mostly shoot landscapes and my kids at the moment but I’m trying to work up the courage to photograph people. I’m sure lots of you other newbies know what I mean. I also seem to be drawn to images of decay, as in derelict buildings, broken things etc. Strange but nevermind! I’ll post some and people can make up their own mind.

    Hi Brian, welcome along.

There’s plenty of decay and broken things on here…and that’s just the members. Nice to have you on board.

    Hi Brian,

I just started on this site too. As you mentioning ruins, coincidently I just read an article about how this area of photography is very big in Japan with many publications and websites. Its called “Haikyo”.
The article can be found at http://www.metropolis.co.jp/tokyo/711/feature.asp

    Best of luck!
