Holga/Pinhole… Lo Fi camera books

I am trying to build up a small collection of books of the type of pictures I like to take or look at rather than buying magazines…. I dont have any LoFi pictures in any of my books and I do enjoy taking these type of pictures so would like to get a Lofi book or two. Anyone bought or come across any nice books of pictures taken with Lo Fi cameras?

Martin, this is the only one I would recommend, its a small book, great images, first class reproduction. It may be cheaper to purchase from the States than the UK.

The website is also first class and has lots of images from the book.

I have a copy if you want to have a browse before buying.

This has a run of about 1500 so should be plenty available. The Photographer would not be well known. Did anyone buy my last recommendation Irish Travellers, Tinkers No More by Alen MacWeeney , a book about travellers taken in the 60’s, its now out of print and selling at over 100£ sterling. Its real quality so no surprise it sold out. Do try track down a copy if you can.

I bought a copy of it around 18 months ago in one of the bookshops on Dawson street.

The quality of the pictures is superb. Wont be selling mine even if I was offered 100GBP

A great book one of my favourites, The first edition is a hardback and can still be picked up second hand, print quaity is top notch. The latest edition is paperback and is widely available.

Amelia Stein another Irish based photographer produced a book of photographs of Irish artists in 2009, its top class in both photographic content and reproduction quality. You might get a copy in the RHA or on-line, good value considering the standard of printing. A more recent publication by Amelia on The Palm House in The Botanic Gardens was showcased on Nationwide recently, another good book with good standards of reproduction but not as good as The Portraits.
