great shots, love the sharpness/dept of field in 1. I would have been tempted to PS the moon in the 3rd

what camera / Lens were you using for the shots?

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

It’s a nice part of the country for a bit of photography.

All of the photos were taken with a Nikon D70. #1 & #3 with a Nikkor 18-70 lens and #2 with a Sigma 28-300. #1 is 3 shots stitched together as I wanted the extra resolution to get it printed 40 x 30 inches.

The moon in #3 did blur a bit on me as I was using a cheap tripod at the time.

Is stitching the photos a method of increasing resolution ?……how does this work?

By stitching the 3 photos together I got a file that was about 15MP compared to the 6MP size my camera usually takes. It also gives the effect of a wider angle lens. I used Auto Pano Pro to do the stitching.

Great photo’s, nice strong impact. No’s 2 &3 would be my favourites. Although in 3 the tiny lights of the boat on the horizon distract me slightly,. i’d be tempted to clone it out…or lose the moon as suggested previously.

Thanks for the comments Sean. Here’s a version with a new less blurry full moon and I’ve cloned out the boat.

    Hi Mark,

I prefer the balance in the one without the boat……..
