Taken on Hook Head over the Bank Holiday weekend. Lovely evening, very cold with great light. First time in a long time I’d seen both dawn and dusk on the same day…..
Maybe its my monitor but the sharpest part of the image I can see is the horizon. The foreground water looks OOF. Now I now that this could possibly be due to slow shutter speed with the light available but if thats the case then you would possibly have been better stopping down the aperature and getting an even slower shutter speed to show the viewer that you intended getting movement in the water and clouds rather than it just looking OOF.
No problem, I appreciate what you’re saying and its more than a valid point. I know the image has flaws and to be honest, I’m normally photograph people and am only now getting into landscapes. Shot was at 1/10 and yes, I should have let the foreground blur more. Thanks!
i don’t have a problem with the slightly out of focus sea… you would also be sacrificing cloud detail with the slow shutter speed. i might crp a wee bit off the water to bring the horizon onto the third line.
Been away for a bit so only getting back to this now. Thanks for the comments on this, have recropped and composed and am much happier with the outcome – cheers all!
